Immunization is a supply driven program and cold chain is the backbone of it. Effective cold chain and vaccine management is critical for smooth operation of an effective immunisation programme. This website provides the guidance on cold chain and vaccine management practices as per the norms of Government of India and also reference documents on international standards. Website also provides information on trained human resource in cold chain and vaccine handling

National Cold Chain and Vaccine Management Training Center (NCCVMTC), State Health Transport Organization (SHTO), Pune, is an Organisation under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Maharashtra and has been providing technical guidance to all the states and GMSDs and training of cold chain Officers and technicians for more than 3 decades on cold chain equipment repair and maintenance including solar refrigerators on request of Govt of India with technical assistance from UNICEF . Since 2010 centre has imparted training to master trainers on cold chain and vaccine handling. Since March 2012, this Center is working as collaborative Center of NIHFW, New Delhi for cold chain and vaccine management

The officers from states will be provided with access to online database of cold chain equipment in the country. This online database provides critical information such as performance indicator of cold chain system, inventory of cold chain equipment, electricity supply status, AMC status of equipment, status of cold chain technician, toolkits and stock position of related spare of states under Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and available cold chain space for vaccine storage.
