What Is Transplanted Hair Like?
Can you remember the scene from the American TV series Friends? Joey needs to leave shooting earlier and pretends that he has to go to the hospital because of a hair transplantation. This excuse is lame a bit because Joey is a pretty thick- haired guy. But that such a type of surgical intervention exists is not the subject of the joke. Many people all over the world decide to undergo this operation hoping they will beat their hair loss. However, it is not so easy - in fact it is a long time run. Hardly anybody knows that transplanted hair is never as thick as the original hair was and that it grows after six to nine months after operation.
Nobody Wants to Wait Too Long
Hair transplantation is an expensive thing and most clients take it as a one time procedure. They don't plan to repeat it in the future. Money is not the only problem. Demanding preoperative examinations and many after-treatment despite spent effort and finances there are only several transplanted hairs on your scalp? Fortunately, there is a solution. The easiest modern way to gain a look of hairy scalp works even in combination with a hair transplant. Scalp micropigmentation is the exact opposite of transplantation - it is cheap and quick, it doesn't hurt; it brings a result immediately, it really works, it is without side effects and it is connected with almost no restrictions. Above all, it looks more natural than a transplant. SMP after hair transplant as well as SMP before transplant is glowingly recommended by both experts and the guys who have undergone the treatment.
The Difference Between Before and After
If you decide for SMP before hair transplant you prevent being partially bald or thin-haired for one next year. SMP does not hamper the transplantation because the tattooing is only in the external layer of the scalp whereas the hair follicles are transplanted deeper. The recommended deadline for “before SMP” is at least one month before the transplantation.
However, the SMP after hair transplant is probably the better choice. It is worth waiting for the results of regrowth (the first transplanted hair usually falls out after around two weeks) and for healing up the scars. Then the tattooing can fill in the space between hair, hide traces of scars and help to make final hairlines. How long does the waiting take? The scalp with transplanted hair shouldn't be tattooed at least one year after the operation. The final effect of surgical intervention is clear and the micropigmentation corrections can take place by that time.
What you can take for sure - the difference between before and after the whole procedure (the combination of hair transplant and SMP) on your head is remarkable. You will have some hair and the hair will look thick.
Is It Too Much?
Yes, it would be better to go to bed bald and wake up with beautiful thick hair in the morning. But we don´t live in the world of sci-fi or fantasy. Only a few decades ago camouflages were the sole eventuality of solving the problem of hair loss. Now we do have more opportunities. The combination of the operation and slight tattooing is approved very well. There is actually nothing better. Let's look forward to new inventions and let's tattoo our hair until artificial hair becomes a reality.
How do you fight hair loss? Would you wear a wig or some other means of camouflage if you started losing hair? What´s your opinion of new treatment methods in dermatology and trichology?
