Specifications of Cold Chain Equipment (GOI)
Government of India has issued the specifications of Cold Chain equipment, spare parts, vaccine carrier, cold boxes, stabilizers, vehicles, thermometers etc. All the procured equipment by GOI must qualify these specifications.
In addition to GOI specifications, WHO and UNICEF has a list of global standards that are called Performance, Quality and Safety (PQS). WHO had also issued the Product Information sheet (PIS) that gives the listing of all the pre-qualified equipment of WHO. WHO recommends to refer to PQS specifications as these precedes the PIS from year 2008 onwards.
