Erotic Thai massage and what is to be expected during one – an explanation

The erotic Thai massage is not your run of the mill rubdown, that's for sure! Ancient therapeutic art  that goes back centuries, maybe even millennia, and an erotic stimulation on top of it? Where do I sign up, you may ask! Well, before you do, you should probably know what is to be expected from this procedure. And this article will tell you precisely that.

What makes the erotic Thai massage different?

Well, how old do you think a classical, Western massage as we know it is? Let's not bother you with guessing – it's about 200 years old. The Thai treatment, on the other hand, is, according to some, about 2500 years old, being credited to Shivago Komarpaj, Buddha's personal physician. That is, of course, a legend that is hard to verify, but the first texts that allude to a massage practices in Thailand most certainly date back to the 13th century. And the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok has been a centre of massage learning tradition for a good few centuries.

The Thai massage typically combines Ayurveda, yoga, Chinese medicine and other local healing practices. Under normal circumstances, it is a non-erotic procedure, during the recent years, however, its erotic variations started to surface, in reaction to the increasing popularity of other erotic massages. But  that's a story for another time… let's take you through this procedure step by step!

Yoga and movement

This is not your regular type of massage where you just passively lie down and let your practitioner do the rest . Here, a lot of movement and stretching is involved. As mentioned previously, this treatment does borrow elements of yoga, and you will need to posture yourselves into multiple yoga poses, assisted by your masseur or masseuse. For that end, he or she will pull and stretch using both hands, arms, knees and whole legs. The whole procedure can take up to two hours  - but the effects are worth it!

Mats and mattresses

Most massages are done on special massaging tables or mattresses. Not this one, though. The Thai rubdown uses a padded mat or a futon spread on the floor instead. There might be some exceptions where the therapist opts for a table instead, but these are usually few and far in between.

Clothes on or off?

Thai massage as it is practiced in Thailand is typically done with both your and your therapist being clad in light clothing. However, in its erotic version, it naturally follows that you will, at some point, get undressed so that the stimulation of your erogenous zones can take place.

Traditionally, oil is not used

But in its erotic version, some amount of oil or massage lotion is usually involved in order to reduce the friction when stimulating the erogenous zones. However, that happens more towards the end of the massage. Until that point, the massage is "dry".

The happy ending question

Some traditional therapist shun the erotic variation of this massage. However, there are most certainly benefits to be gained from it. Erotic stimulation results in a heightened production of feel-good hormones such as oxytocin, and can deepen the relaxing effect of the massage. Besides, it can also help in relieving some deeply embedded sexual frustrations and restore your libido and self-confidence.

So, that was it with regards to the erotic Thai massage – let's hope you've learned something new along the way!

What do you reckon – is the erotic addition to the traditional massage a good idea? Can you think of other therapeutic procedures that have taken a more erotic form?
